Endodontics: a modern approach

This course, delivered over two consecutive days, is a great opportunity to get to grips with modern Endodontics . Jon and Luca will lead you through treatment workflow with simplified techniques to deliver efficient, safe and reproducible endodontics. The small numbers (no more than twelve dentists) will give some flexibility to ensure your own learning needs are met. This is a Tier 1 directed NHS course.

Specialist in Endodontics

Jon is a GDC registered specialist in endodontics, having completed his formal specialist training at King’s College London. He works in a specialist endodontic referral practice in Bristol and also The Circus Dental Practice in Bath which is his main referral hub. He also runs bespoke, small group, endodontic courses around the UK, working in partnership with other leading clinicians. Aside from this he is involved with foundation dentist training, postgraduate teaching at Bristol Dental School and clinical teaching for the MSc in Endodontics at King’s College.

Aims

To update on modern endodontics and restoration of the root filled tooth in line with current best evidence and using materials and equipment that simplify treatment and are cost effective for NHS practice.

Objectives

  1. Understand the diagnosis and assessment surrounding decisions for endodontic and linked restorative treatment.
  2. Gain proficiency, understanding and hands on experience of all aspects of de novo root canal treatment. Complete endodontic treatment on an upper premolar and upper molar Typodont tooth using techniques taught.
  3. Understand decision making whether to restore with direct or indirect restorations through the concept of biomechanics.
  4. Understand the importance of coronal seal.
  5. Practice hands on onlay preparation.

Learning Outcomes

Following the course, participants will be better prepared to meet the endodontic needs of their patients presenting in practice.
